Real Madrid and Barcelona hit hard by injuries. Both Federico Valverde and Ansu Fati will not be able to play for a month and 4 months respectively.
As reported few days ago, Ansu Fati got seriously injured during the match between Barcelona and Real Betis last weekend. After the surgery to the internal meniscus of the left knee, the young talent should be back not earlier than 4 months. Despite the surgery was successful, the medical team of Barcelona confirmed that Ansu Fati will only be back in 2021 missing all the remaining matches of the Champions’League Group Stage.
Ansu Fati has played 10 matches so far, 7 in Liga and 3 in Champions’ League, totalling 596 minutes in which he scored 5 goals (including one in the Clasico) and 2 assists. Despite being only 18 years old, Ansu Fati has already made 43 appearances with Barcelona, scoring 13 goals (11 in league and 2 in Champions League).
The situation in Madrid is slightly better. Despite Federico Valverde got injured as well last weekend, the Paraguayan midfielder may only need to rest for a month without surgery. So far, Valverde had a fantastic season playing a solid football and massively helping the team. Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid’s coach, decided to make it a regular player in the starting eleven. With a Valverde will certainly miss the match against Inter Milan at Stadio Meazza.
