Local Argentinian media just reported that Diego Armando Maradona has been taken to hospital for tests. He will be under observation for few days.
Diego Armando Maradona, 60 years old and arguably the greatest football player ever, has been recovered into an hospital in Argentina for unknown tests as reported by local media. Maradona who is currently the coach of Gimnasia y Esgrima has been hospitalized to the Ipensa clinic in La Plata, a city approximately an hour away from Buenos Aires by car.
Diego Armando Maradona is not new to hospitalization having spent several weeks in a clinic in 2004 due to severe heart and respiratory problems linked to drug use. In 2005, following his drug rehabilitation period, El Pibe de Oro underwent a stomach surgery to reduce his weight. In 2007, the World Champion spent additional time into a rehab facility to detox from alcohol abuse. More recently, in 2019 Maradona suffered internal bleeding.
Maradona is considered one of the greatest players of all time and, according to many fans and football enthusiasts, he is the best footballer in the history. Maradona won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986 and scored one of the most legendary goals ever against England in the semifinals dribbling half of the Three Lions team alone.
