Daniel Jones is a 6 foot 5 inch, 220 lb quarterback from Charlotte, North Carolina. Jones went to Duke University from 2015-2018 where he played college football and then was drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft.
Daniel Jones originally committed to Princeton University but as we know it later committed to Duke. During his high school career at Charlotte Latin School, Jones had 6,997 passing yards and 98 touchdowns. Daniel Jones, quarterback for the Giants ran clear past the Eagles’ defense just to fall right before the 8 yd line.
All Jones had to say was “I was just trying to run faster than I was running and got caught up”. Jones’ speed reached 21.23 miles per hour which is 7 miles per hour short of Usain Bolt. His speed was the fastest of any quarterback this season so far and since the 2018 season. Luckily, the Giants came back and scored a touchdown after this small mishap so Jones was pardoned.
Wayne Gallman had Jones’ back and pushed his way into the endzone. While watching the video you can get a good laugh but his speed is remarkable. All he has to keep in mind for the next time is to run that fast but stay straight up while doing that. In an interview with Jones he did not really know what to say other than he was running too fast for his feet.
Even though it is funny we should all relax and give the good man a break. Some articles also say that his incident is a great representation of how the year 2020 is going. A potential would-be highlight turned into comedy very quickly.
