Considering their chances in Serie A this season and the constant injury struggles that they had to endure, it seemed pretty obvious that AC Milan were going to try to sign some players in order to boost their squad and add a little bit more of quality to make that necessary leap to secure the league title. And they just did it with Torino midfielder Soualiho Meïté.
While there was some decent expectations of what AC Milan could achieve this season, no one was expecting Stefano Pioli’s team to challenge for the league and even less so to be leaders for the vast majority of the tournament so far while also enduring their fair share of injuries. Add all that and makes for a big accomplishment.
Well, the AC Milan board doesn’t seem to rest on their laurels and they are looking for ways to boost their squad for the remainder of the season and achieve the coveted league title. And to do that they have signed Torino midfielder Soualiho Meïté, who will be part of the club until the end of the season in a loan deal with an option to buy. The 26-year-old midfield Meite started his career in his home country of France with Auxerre and played the vast majority of his professional career in the Ligue until he got the chance to come to Serie A in 2018 with Torino, where his career would make a turn for the best.
Soualiho Meïté is a quality midfielder that is going to give manager Stefano Pioli another quality option for his team and he is going to have the possibility of rotating the likes of Franck Kessie, Sandro Tonali, among others, thus allowing to maintain the quality performances they have been able to deliver so far this season. A signing for rotation purposes, but one that could make a very positive impact for AC Milan’s aspirations in the second half of the season.
