Emiliano Buendia, one of the jewels of the English Championship

Despite suffering relegation last season in the English Premier League, Norwich City have been enjoying a wonderful season in the Championship with the team on top of the league table and poised for promotion to the top category of English football yet again. And Emiliano Buendia is one of their stars.

The English Championship may not have as much exposure as the English Premier League. However, they also have a lot of quality players and a good amount of them play in the current league leading team, Norwich City, with Emiliano Buendia being perhaps their best player so far this season.

The Argentinian Buendia was one of the best chance creators of the English Premier League last season, being one of the few shinning lights in Norwich’s dreadful campaign and it was actually quite surprising that he didn’t manage to get a move to a big English club, but that is a topic for another discussion. Emiliano Buendia stayed another season at Norwich and that has helped a lot his development, with the 24-year-old having scored 7 goals so far this year and being one of the best chance creators in the English Championship. And that is something worth praising about Buendia: the fact that he has been consistent in terms of output and creativity throughout the years.

One of the clubs that has shown interest in his services this January has been Arsenal, with manager Mikel Arteta quite interested in getting a chance creator and someone that can add a bit more creativity to a side that has look bereft of that so far this season. Regardless of that, Emiliano Buendia is one of the most underrated players in English football right now and he should be getting a lot more praise for what he has done in recent years. It’s very likely that we’re going to see Emiliano Buendia playing for a big club in the coming years.
