Isco, the Spanish 28-year-old midfielder, has been under-performing for quite some time now at Real Madrid and he is poised to leave the club, whether it’s on January or next summer. Where should he go? He has many suitors, after all.
Isco’s time at Real Madrid has had a lot of ups and downs, but it has been going in a downward spiral for a couple of years now.
The Spanish midfielder has failed to recover past form and he has looked disinterested so far this season, to the point that manager Zinedine Zidane might want to part ways with him, much like he has done with James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale. And whether it’s this January or next summer, there’s a very good chance that Isco is going to leave Real Madrid and he has a lot of different suitors coming his way. AC Milan, Sevilla, Arsenal, Juventus, Everton… many different teams want to have this midfield maestro in their ranks.
Where should he go? It’s hard to determine at this point. There are many different variables and the player’s preferences are not known at this point. Be that as it may, one club that seemed quite interested was Juventus. Manager Andrea Pirlo is a known fan of Isco and even suggested Juventus to sign the Spaniard before he joins them as their manager, so that’s something.
The desire to work again with manager Lopetegui at Sevilla might be another good choice as they had quite a good relationship that goes all the way back to when they were working together in Spain’s national team. Everton is an interesting shout because manager Carlo Ancelotti was the one that brought him to Real Madrid to begin with in 2013 and he could be a good motivator to reignite the fire of Isco.
Whoever the team might be, the reality is that Isco’s time at Real Madrid has come to an end and it’s the best for all parties involved. A sad ending for perhaps one of the most underrated players at the Bernabeu in recent years.
