James Rodriguez is a 29 years old Colombian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for Premier League club Everton and the Colombia national team. James Rodriguez has been praised for his technique, vision and playmaking skills, and often referred as the successor to his compatriot Carlos Valderrama.
The Colombian just started playing for Everton for this season. He had an amazing start with his new team as he scored 3 goals and assisted on 3 in his first 5 games. James Rodriguez is being described as top-class by both fans and media. He has been the key aspect to lead Everton to first place in the premier league. Before being transferred to Everton, James Rodriguez was a Real Madrid player who was almost not being used by his former coach, Zinedine Zidane.
James Rodriguez was almost never an option for the French coach even though the fans knew what he is capable of. The lack of rhythm did the Colombian little justice when he would play for the Spanish club. This meant that his transfer was a bit like Bale’s as Real Madrid sold players that were not really useful for the team.
As of right now, in just 5 games James Rodriguez showed everyone that he wasn’t quite well used by Zidane, which is putting the French coach under fire by his superiors and the Real Madrid supporters, which haven’t also been too happy with the team’s results since the arrival of the coach to the team and the huge transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to the Italian team Juventus.
Real Madrid made their supporters furious by losing 1-0 to Cádiz in La Liga, being in 3rd place now and with a tough loss on their back. Zidane didn’t turn his back to the media’s shots and said that he knows they didn’t play well and that they will always be criticized when losing. Supporters can only expect better football from Real Madrid in the upcoming weeks.
