Next 20 December will be a special day for all the MMA enthusiasts since the UFC Fight Night will host two main events Other than Geoff Neal against Stephen Thompson, MMA fans will have the chance to watch another exciting fight: Jose Aldo vs Marlon Vera in the bantamweight division.

The incoming UFC Fight Night, to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada seems to have a very intriguing fight card. In fact, the event will feature two main events. We have already discussed and provided our prediction about the bout between Geoff Neal (13-2-0) and Stephen Thompson (15-4-1). So, let’s focus on the other co-main event: Jose “Junior” Aldo (28-7-0) and Marlon “Chito” Vera (16-6-1) will lock horns in an exciting bantamweight bout.

Jose Aldo has been one of the most dominant fighters in the history of UFC defending his world featherweight champion belt for a long time. However, the loss against Conor “The Notorious” McGregor (22-4-0) has totally changed his destiny and Jose Aldo never truly mentally recovered from that painful fight which lasted only 13 seconds. Winning only 2 out the last 7 fights, Jose Aldo not only look like a weak shadow of what he used to be in his prime but also he may be at risk of been “fired” by Dana White. As you have already read, the UFC president is willing to clean up the roster of UFC and former champions such as Anderson Silva and Yoel Romero have been “gently asked” to leave. Our feelings are that a loss against Marlon Vera can cost him the spot inside the UFC roster.

Marlon Vera looks stronger from a mental perspective given his recent knockout victory against Sean O’Malley (12-1-0). In addition, the Ecuadorian bantamweight fighter seems to have found a bit of continuity in his career winning the last 6 out of 7 fights.

To cut the story short, we guess that Marlon Vera will make it by KO/TKO. The knock-out power of Jose Aldo is long gone and the only way to win is by decision. However, the Brazilian may not have enough time to complete the mission since the striking skill of Marlon Vera may end the fight prematurely.
