There are very few fighters in Mixed Martial Arts history who get fame without competing against a ranked fighter and Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev is one of them. Russian-born Swedish fighter stunned everyone by competing in 2 fights in just 10 days and both of those fights were in different divisions. The guy now has 3 wins in 4 months and he is already starting on some big names.
In one of his tweets, Khamzat Chimaev asked Dana White to give him McGregor, Jorge Masvidal, and Nate Diaz in one night claiming that he can smash all these guys. Since Khamzat had made his UFC debut in a blitzing passion, fans have started talking about a fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Israel Adesanya. Though Adesanya is far high in terms of ranks and Khamzat has yet to fight with a ranked fighter, MMA experts think that a fight between them will be huge.
As mentioned, Khamzat is yet to be ranked, but he will headline a card against 3rd ranked welterweight Leon Edwards. If Khamzat wins, he will enter the top 5. Israel Adesanya is right now standing on another level, and he may not be interested in fighting with a young rising star. However, if Khamzat carries on his performance, he will be seen in the octagon against Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya in a massive clash.
In one of his recent interviews, Khamzat has already talked about fighting against Kamaru Usman, currently UFC Welterweight Champion, saying that Usman is a great fighter. However, Khamzat thinks he can beat the Nigerian Welterweight champion. Talking about Israel Adesanya, Khamzat said that Adesanya is good in standup but nobody has wrestled with him yet, and if he gets a chance against Adesanya, he will smash him easily.
Khamzat said, “He’s good in standup but nobody did any wrestling with him. Yoel Romero only threw three or four punches in the standup. I can beat this guy. How he is going to come up from under me if I take him down? I don’t think he will. I am going to beat his face”.
