Lionel Messi: Gerard Piqué Infuriated at Barca Management

The 33 year old Argentinian player has not been having a great start in this season.
It is known that Messi has not been happy about Barcelona’s management and morals, having an outspoken interest in leaving the club – which didn’t happen last off-season because of his contract. Nonetheless, in 2021 the situation will be different, and Lionel Messi will have the freedom to choose an adventure in another league – if any team shows the capacity to finance the player’s economic request.

As reported by ABola newspaper, Messi vs Barcelona management situation has been quite controversial, and his teammates have supported him and spoken out in his favour. Gerard Piqué, Barcelona’s Spanish centre-back was interviewed about the subject by the Spanish newspaper “La Vanguardia”. “As a president, I would have been acting in a totally different way. I had to ask for Messi to endure the situation and not leave while being on his contract. We did not talk a lot about that as I believe it to be a personal situation”.
Gerard Piqué continued, “I don’t want to get on badly with anyone but there have been times, like the issue of social networks. As a Barca player, I see that my club has spent money, money that went to criticising not only people with a historical relationship with the club, but active players – and that is barbaric,” Piqué Said.

“I ask myself: how it is possible that the best player in the world wakes up one day and has to send a fax to the club because he doesn’t feel that he is being heard? It is too chocking. What is happening? Messi deserves everything. The new stadium should have his name on it, not the sponsor’s. We should preserve our figures, not despise them. It is a situation that leaves me nervous.” – Piqué followed with, then giving his last thoughts: “Surprises me that people like Pep Guardiola, Puyol, Xavi or Valdés are not part of the club. There is something not being well done. People like them are not only part of the club, they are the club. They did so much for it, gave their heart to it and them not being here as of right now shows a lot about our superior’s management”.
