South American football has yet produced another potential star and this time he comes from Ecuador. Moises Caicedo has become one of South America’s hottest prospects and it seems that the Independiente del Valle man has a lot of interesting offers coming his way.
When it comes to South American football, you’re always going to find young, promising players and one of the biggest prospects right now is Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The 19-year-old footballer has played for his entire young career at upstart club Independiente del Valle from his home country of Ecuador and he has become a key part of the midfield, helping the club win the Copa Sudamericana and being one of their star performers in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores this year. Moises Caicedo made history this year when he became the first player born in the 21st century to score in the South American qualifiers for the World Cup while also amassing three assists for Ecuador’s national team.
Moises Caicedo is part of a great generation of Ecuadorian players that go all the way back to their amazing Under-20s of a few years ago and now he is poised to get a big move to Europe, getting attention from the prominent teams as AC Milan, RB Leipzig and Manchester United. Even more interesting is that there were reports of Manchester United approaching Independiente del Valle to sign the player, with both clubs apparently doing a meeting this Monday to see if they can get to an agreement.
If so, Manchester United (or any other team that gets to sign him) are going to get a promising box-to-box midfielder that can retrieve the ball, bomb forward and have high levels of fitness and stamina. Moises Caicedo has been compared to N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, two of his biggest football idols, and for a good reason as he has very similar traits. Regardless of the team he picks, Moises Caicedo is a very promising talent and we hope to see him achieve his full potential in the European football.
