The Italian Mixed Martial Artist Marvin Vettori has defeated Jack Hermansson in a dominating fashion and now he is eyeing a rematch against the Middleweight Champion Isreal Adesanya for a potential explosive rematch.

Last weekend, a convincing Marvin Vettori (16-4-1) has won against Jack Hermansson (21-6-0) offering a superb performance in a very engaging fight. Thanks to this victory, the 27-years-old Vettori has moved to the 5th position in the UFC Middleweight division ranking. Vettori, 27-years-old, comes from a 4-win streak and, according to many commentators and experts, his performance shown last weekend was impressive. The Italian fighter seems to have improved enormously his striking skills and pace. And, if for all the MMA fans is a great news, for Adesanya, 31-year-old, is a very bad news.

To understand the reason, we need to back to 14 April 2018 when Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya (20-0-0) and Marvin Vettori locked horns in the octagon. Adesanya was already an established fighter on his way to the world champion title shot while Marvin Vettori was still trying to find his way in the MMA world. However, that night was arguably the only time Adesanya was in deep trouble on the octagon and Vettori was an inch close to victory. Finally, the Nigerian-born fighter won by split decision creating a lot of criticism since several commentators gave the victory to the Italian fighter. If it counts, we believe that Israel Adesanya deserved the victory that night of a minimal point. However, with a little bit more of experience and accuracy, Marvin Vettori could have changed the entire history of the middleweight division. And it seems that now he has it.

In one of his recent interviews, Vettori challenged Adesanya saying that he will turn out to be one of the scariest nightmares for him that he will not forget until he retires. The Italian fighter added that Israel Adesanya is certainly feeling the pressure since in the division no one else has the same power and hunger he has right now.

Unfortunately, Adesanya is looking to move to the light heavyweight division in order to challenge Jan Blachowicz (27-8-0) which can earn him a chance to become a two-division champion. However, our hope is that a rematch would be arrange between the UFC middleweight champion and Marvin Vettori since it would be interesting to see the progress made by the Italian fighter. Few days ago, on our website and social media we asked who can beat Israel Adesanya and we got mainly 2 answers: nobody and Khamzat Chimaev (9-0-0). More than 90% of our followers provided one of those answers. Now, there is a third answer!
