2 min read

Everyone is excited about the bout between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. as it is for the first time that someone is coming back from retirement after 15 long years. They are scheduled to face each other at the Staples Centre on November 28.

However, both of them are unhappy as the Athletic Commission has declared the bout as an exhibition fight. Tyson and Jones both showed their anger at the decision. “Not a real fight”, Tyson said, “It’s Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones. I’m coming to fight, and I hope he is coming to fight and that’s all you need to know”.

Roy Jones also rejected the “exhibition” tag by describing him and Mike Tyson as freaks. “The last guy, that tried an exhibition with Mike Tyson got dropped in the first round”, Roy Jones Jr. said, “If you don’t know that then there’s something wrong with you. Who goes in the ring with the great, legendary Mike Tyson and thinks ‘This is an exhibition’? Twelve-ounce gloves? No headgear? Really? This is an exhibition? Come on, be real”.

Both legends are unhappy with the decision of 2 minutes round but the fans want to see them fight one more time and the fight is likely to get immense views, it does not matter if it is a real fight or an exhibition match.

Roy Jones Jr. was more critical with the decision and said that this is for women, and 2 minutes do not work for both of them while Tyson looked pretty calm and said, “I’m sure they have their reasons for doing it, But you know, women fight for two minutes. But I guess the commission has a bigger influence than I do. I’m just happy that we’re doing it.”

Fans also seem to have different views, but the excitement for this fight will not be decreased even if the commission goes for one-minute rounds.
