Rape Case: CR7’s Nightmare Resumes
1 min read
The story of the alleged rape committed by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009 in a hotel in Las Vegas seems to have no end. Kathryn Mayorga, 35, claims the Portuguese star sexually assaulted her in June 2009 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A judge in Nevada has in fact rejected the Portuguese lawyer’s request to cancel the civil case that Kathryn Mayorga, alleged victim, filed against him.
The woman’s lawyers aim to show that, at the time of the agreement reached with the Portuguese footballer, to withdraw the charges, which included the payment by the player of Euro300,000 to the girl, Kathryn Mayorga was not mentally lucid. The woman is now asking for a new compensation of USD215,000, for the alleged damage caused by that agreement.
Now a new phase of interrogation can begin and Ronaldo could face a new public hearing in the USA. However, CR7’s legal staff is not worried: the lawyers claim to have already provided all the evidence of Mayorga’s mental abilities. Cristiano Ronaldo, 35 years old, has vehemently rejected Mayorga’s accusations against him, highlighting them as ‘fake news’.
