Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed some of his secrets for a perfect shape and superb football performances: power naps, protein diet and quality time with friend and family. CR7 is obsessed with his diet and lifestyle.
Many lean animal proteins, no alcohol and lots of rest and relaxation with family and friends. This is apparently the secret behind the perfect body of Cristiano Ronaldo and his awesome performances at 34 years old. According to Cristiano Ronaldo, spending quality time with family and friends is essential to be in perfect mental and physical shape. Diet and exercise are not enough.
According to The Sun, his daily diet starts with a breakfast of ham, cheese and low-fat yoghurt. Then comes the first of the two daily lunches, which includes salad and chicken, defined by CR7 as a “magic food” because of its high protein value and low fat content. The second lunch often consists of fish, mostly tuna, with salad, eggs, olives and tomatoes. There are also two dinners, where meat and fish alternate once again, such as squid, steak and swordfish, but also Bacalao a la Brasa, a Portuguese dish based on cod very loved by Cristiano Ronaldo. In addition to these main meals there can be snacks with fresh fruit and avocado toast. Cristiano Ronaldo‘s diet does not include alcohol: the sample has been a teetotaler since 2005, also because his father died of alcohol-related diseases.

Naturally, a similar diet requires intense training. Among his daily work-out exercise, Cristiano Ronaldo includes a lot of swimming as well as pilates. After each training session, Ronaldo spends about three minutes in his ad hoc 60 thousand euro room at a temperature between minus 160 and minus 200 degrees. In this way he counteracts muscle pain and inflammation. If cryotherapy may sound like a footballer’s luxury, there is a fundamental habit in Cristiano Ronaldo’s life which is affordable to everyone: power nap.
Cristiano Ronaldo explained, “A proper rest is really important to get the most out of your training. I go to bed early and wake up early, especially before matches. Sleep helps muscle recovery, which is fundamental”. Cristiano Ronaldo adds five naps during the day which are on top of the ordinary eight hours of daily sleep. The remaining time of the day is spent with CR7’s family and friends. Cristiano Ronaldo added, “Mental endurance is just as important as physical endurance. Training is fundamental, but having a relaxed life helps you to give the best of yourself, physically and mentally. I spend my free time with my family and friends, and this relaxes me and gives me a positive mental attitude”.
