AC Milan is one of the great teams in Italy and one of the most important names in the history of football with endless amount of trophies to brag about. To this we must add that they had some of the best players in the history of world football. But the last decade has been quite hard for the club and now, this season, things finally seem to be on the up again.

After the departure of manager Massimiliano Allegri, AC Milan has been going through a very important decline and losing their way at the European level as well, missing out on the Champions League on a regular basis. In the last six years, AC Milan have had nine managers including the current one, Stefano Pioli, among them several club legends such as Gennaro Gattuso, Filippo Inzaghi or Clarende Seedorf. However, none of them managed to find the necessary solution to place AC Milan again at the top of the Serie A. That is until Stefano Pioli came to town.

Pioli has been finding a fairly young and talented team that doesn’t rely too much on big names and has mixed it with some experienced players such as Simon Kjaer, Hakan Çalhanoglu and, especially, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, also known as Benjamin Button since at 39 years of age he is still as vital as ever, scoring 11 goals in 10 games so far this season. Another player who is enjoying a wonderful time with AC Milan and has managed to become one of the best footballers in the world in his position is Theo Hernández, the French left-back who joined the Italian team from Real Madrid. Hernández has been another key piece in Pioli’s AC Milan due to the fact that he is very incisive in attack and capable of scoring a decent amount of goals.

We also have to mention a great generation of young players such as Alexis Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Sandro Tonali, Rafael Leao and Jens Petter Hauge, which are becoming more and more prominent with the rossoneri jersey. All of this has AC Milan leading Serie A undefeated, being the only club alongside Juventus to not have lost in Italy so far this season and also top of their group in the UEFA Europa League. This shows a hopeful future for AC Milan that may lead them to the glory days again.
